Grilled Romaine Chopped Salad

BLEND No.75 CREATIVE RECIPE

This salad brings together an amazing combination of aroma and flavor from the grill. When paired with my Blend No.75, this simple graceful salad marries an array of tastes on your palate from smoky, perfumy licorice to savory and pungent. It is a great overture to any feast. Here's a great shortcut, add my No.75 to a high quality store bought vinaigrette and you will have a magical dressing that can be used in many ways.


Serves 8 - 16

RECIPE INGREDIENTS

Vinaigrette

  1. ¼T HomeiraStyle Blend No.75, Already mixed with olive oil   (See Original Signature Recipe)
  2. ½C Salad Dressing, Store Bought
  3. 1T Lemon Zest
  4. 2T Lemon Juice, Freshly squeezed

Salad

  1. 8 Baby Romaine Lettuce, Halved
  2. 2 Fennel Bulbs, Sliced Thin
  3. 1C Celery Root, Julienned
  4. 3C Persian Cucumber, Diced
  5. 3C Cherry Tomatoes, Halved
  6. 3C Micro Greens

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a mixing bowl, add Blend No.75 mixture, Vinaigrette, lemon zest, lemon juice
  2. Mix well with a fork or whisk set aside for the flavors to infuse
  3. Preheat grill to medium high
  4. Place fennel, celery root, cucumber and tomatoes in a mixing bowl
  5. Add ¾ of the dressing and toss to combine
  6. Grill romaine on the cut side for 20 seconds, do not over grill
  7. Arrange lettuce grilled side up on serving platter
  8. Drizzle remainder of the dressing on lettuce
  9. Top with fennel, celery, cucumber, tomato mixture
  10. Top with micro greens and serve
